This afternoon, arrive to the southern coast of Maine where we begin our Canadian Maritimes adventure! Upon check in, we’ll receive a warm greeting from our professional Tour Director Take some time to relax and freshen up before enjoying a delicious welcome dinner.
Following breakfast, check out and continue our journey ‘downeast’ to Mount Desert Island. Once on Mount Desert Island, we’ll visit Acadia National Park for a visit to Cadillac Mountain where the views of Frenchman’s Bay and Porcupine Islands are spectacular to behold. Later afternoon, check into our Bar Harbor hotel before venturing into the village of Bar Harbor for some free time to shop and explore before enjoying a delicious dinner.
Today we’ll continue our journey and visit Campobello Island; the summer home of former President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Enjoy time to stroll through the beautifully maintained buildings and grounds. Continue on to Saint John for a guided tour of the city to include views of the Reversing falls. This phenomenon is best described when the high tides of the Bay of Fundy meet and overpower the Saint John River and force the river to reverse and flow back upstream. Later this afternoon, we’ll check into our Saint John hotel. Tonight, enjoy a savory dinner at one of the cities fine restaurants.
Day Four – Hopewell Rocks & Prince Edward Island
Following breakfast, we’ll check out and travel to Prince Edward Island. En route, we’ll visit Fundy National Park for a visit to the Hopewell Rocks. At high tide, these rocks appear to be common islands, but at low tide, you are able to view these impressive mushroom shaped flower pot rocks that the relentless tides have carved out of the sandstone. Then, cross the Confederation Bridge, arriving into Charlottetown and Canada’s Birthplace! Later, we’ll check into our PEI hotel for a relaxing two-night stay. Take some time to relax and freshen up, before we enjoy a planned dinner and a delightful musical performance of *Anne of Green Gables at The Confederation Centre of the Arts.

Day Five – Charlottetown, PEI’s North Shore & Anne of Green Gables
This morning following breakfast, we’ll be met by our local tour guide for a full day’s tour of this picture perfect Island. Begin with a guided tour of this lovely city along with a visit to The Story of Confederation; an accurate replica of the Province House site where Canada was born. Then tour along the North shore through “Anne’s Land” and PEI National Park viewing the beautiful red sandy beaches and pastoral countryside. This drive along the shore is among the most beautiful on the island. Visit L.M. Montgomery’s Cavendish National Historic Site/Green Gables Heritage Place which commemorates the house and landscape that inspired renowned Canadian author L. M. Montgomery’s famous novel, Anne of Green Gables. This evening, enjoy a traditional PEI Lobster Supper.

Day Six – Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site & Cape Breton Island
This morning, enjoy breakfast before we board the Northumberland ferry to sail across the Northumberland straights to Nova Scotia. Once we arrive into Pictou, continue on to Cape Breton Island and the village of Baddeck. This afternoon, enjoy a visit to the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site. This museum houses the largest collection photographs, artifacts, and personal effects to the inventor of the telephone. This afternoon, arrive to our Baddeck resort for a relaxing two-night stay. Take some time to enjoy the resort and surroundings before enjoying a savory dinner.

Day Seven – Cabot Trail, Picnic Lunch & Visit to Gaelic College
Spend today exploring the world famous Cabot Trail – a coastal highway described as one of the most spectacular drives in North America. In addition to a picnic lunch along the trail, enjoy stops in Cheticamp; a busy Acadian fishing village, Ingonish; a popular resort town and St. Ann’s; home of the Gaelic College of the Celtic Arts and Crafts and only one of its kind in North America. Here at the Gaelic College, we’ll enjoy an interactive traditional Gaelic experience! Tonight, enjoy another delicious dinner at our resort. (please note: The Gaelic College is closed on weekends)

Day Eight – Halifax Dinner Cruise
Following breakfast, we’ll bid farewell to Cape Bretton Island and depart for Halifax, NS. Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery of Nova Scotia. This afternoon, check into our Halifax hotel for a relaxing two-night stay. Tonight, enjoy an unforgettable dining experience as we set sail for a two-hour *dinner cruise around Halifax Harbor aboard the Harbour Queen, an authentic, Mississippi-style paddle wheeler reminiscent of the early 19th century. Enjoy commentary and enjoy views of historic Halifax landmarks including the old stone privateer warehouses, Georges Island, yacht squadrons, McNabs Island Lighthouse, and much more!

Day Nine – Halifax tour & Peggy’s Cove
After breakfast, depart for a guided tour of Halifax. Enjoy sites such as the Fairview Lawn Cemetery where those who died in the Titanic are buried, Halifax Public Gardens, and visit the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site where period-costumed soldiers re-enact British Military life in the 1800s and the thunderous boom of the noon-day cannon is heard 365 days a year. This afternoon, we’ll venture on to Peggy’s Cove. This village is quite well known to many artists for its picturesque ocean setting and Peggy’s Cove Light – the only light of its kind as it doubles as the Peggy’s Cove post office. Return to Halifax and enjoy another planned dinner at one of the cities wonderful restaurants.

Day Ten – Evangeline Trail & Grand Pre National Historic Site
This morning we will depart for touring along the Evangeline Trail, named after the famous heroine of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s epic poem, “Evangeline”. Along the trail, we’ll visit Grand Pre National Historic Site. These 14 acres of landscaped grounds were established in memory for all the Acadians, Nova Scotia’s first French settlers, who were deported to British Settlements throughout the North America. View Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s statue depicting the fictional heroine in his epic poem “Evangeline.” This afternoon, enjoy free time for lunch in the quaint village of Annapolis Royal. This afternoon, arrive to our Yarmouth hotel for the evening. Gather for another dinner tonight.

Day Eleven – Coastal Maine touring
This morning enjoy breakfast before boarding the CAT high-speed ferry for a 3 ½ hour cruise to Bar Harbor, ME. Arrive to Bar Harbor, disembark and enjoy a relaxing ride ‘downeast’ to the southern part of the state where we’ll enjoy coastal touring and check into our hotel for a relaxing evening. Tonight, enjoy a delicious finale dinner.

Day Twelve – Departure home
This morning, enjoy breakfast before we depart for home taking along many wonderful stories and memories of our adventure to the Canadian Maritimes!
