Day One – Culinary Institute of America Luncheon & Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Depart for our ghostly adventure of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, as we travel to the Hudson Valley area of New York. Enjoy a delicious luncheon prepared by chefs at the *Culinary Institute of America! Then we’ll continue on to the Tarrytown, NY area for a fun-filled two night’s! Begin with a walking tour of Sleepy Hollow Cemetery! Hear of Washington Irving, author of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” Revolutionary War veterans, wealthy industrialists, and others. We also introduce some of the cemetery art, architecture, and symbols on our grounds, and step into the cemetery’s 113-year-old underground receiving vault! Later, check into our area hotel and take some time to relax and freshen up before enjoying a ghoulishly fun evening. Enjoy a planned dinner before we gather at the Old Dutch Church, where we’ll be captivated by a Master storyteller presents a dramatic presentation of Washington Irving’s classic tale, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” featuring the Headless Horseman, Ichabod Crane, Brom Bones, and Katrina Van Tassel!

Day Two – Washington Irving’s Sunnyside, Lyndhurst Castle & Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze!
Following breakfast, we’ll meet our local guide for a spooktacularly fun day! Start off the day with a rolling tour, viewing many of the attractions linked to Ichabod Crane and Sleepy Hollow. View such sites as: The Van Tassel homestead where Schoolmaster Ichabod Crane began his famous flight from the headless horseman at the home of the Van Tassel family. Patriots Park and the André Captors’ monument this marshy area is where Ichabod first encountered the headless horseman. The marsh has long since been drained, but its stream still flows through a park shared by the villages of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow. Philipsburg Manor The manor house and mill are restorations of the 17th century Dutch manor beside whose millpond Ichabod Crane strolled with the local girls. Then it’s on to the Legend behind the “Legend”, for a visit to Sunnyside, Washington Irving’s fascinating home. Filled with a colorful blend of architectural styles, it showcases many fascinating objects related to Irving’s famous story and other tales. Then it’s on to Lyndhurst Castle for a tour, beautifully decorated for the fall season with many special items taken out of storage and specially exhibited. Discover how our current fascination with the macabre developed out of customs that originated in the 19th century. The house is beautifully dressed for mourning including a grey silk wedding dress for the unlucky bride. After a planned dinner, Later don’t miss the area’s biggest Halloween event. The wildly popular Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze featuring over 4,000 hand-carved, illuminated pumpkins set against the mysterious backdrop of Van Cortland Manor’s 18th-century buildings and riverside landscape.

Day Three – West Point Tour & Thayer Hotel Brunch
This morning, enjoy a light breakfast before we depart and head across the river to West Point, arriving at the Visitors Center where we’ll meet our tour guide for a tour of West Point, United States Military Academy. Following the tour, we’ll enjoy a delicious *brunch or Lunch at the historic Thayer Hotel, located at West Point. Later, we’ll continue home taking with us many wonderful memories of our Sleepy Hollow & The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze trip!
